This weekend I stepped outside of my crafting box and tuned into my feminine side.
Even though the card looks detailed, it really is quite simple.
The pink color totally reminded me of Andie’s dress in Pretty In Pink (awesome 80’s movie)
I am calling this card ‘Pretty In Pink’
For the background of the card I used a solid pink cardstock from my
DCWV Guilded Orchard Cardstock Stack. The paper is colored but has a white ‘core’ which is what you need to create this ‘sanded’ technique.
TO CREATE THIS SANDED EMBOSSED LOOK:
Cut paper to size and run it through your embossing machine. I used my
Cuttlebug Machine and
a quarterfoil pattern embossing folder! Then using a fine grit
sandpaper, lightly sand the raised part of the pattern until the color rubs off , leaving a beautiful raised white pattern.
Using
Pop Dots, I then added my hearts in a random pattern, raising some more than others for some dimension!
Lastly I added the word ‘Beautiful’ which was a rub on that I had in my scrap crafting supplies that added the perfect teal POP to the card.
All in all – it turned out beautiful and, SHOCKER, I didn’t even add sparkle!
Hope you LOVE the card and stay tuned for another more ‘masculine’ card later this week!
WHAT DO YOU THINK???
Happy Crafting,
