How to Make Decals with Cricut Joy
Summer in Wisconsin means two things: it's hot and humid! Our warehouse team has been crushing it lately, so we decided to make some custom water bottles for each of our warehouse team members. We'll be using the Cricut Joy and three different kinds of permanent Smart Vinyl for this project— and you'll get to see a tip on how to easily layer vinyl too! Check out the video below to learn more.
Quick side note: You can make this project with any Cricut! It doesn't have to be the Joy. Just remember, Smart Materials {like the Smart Vinyl I have listed below} are to be used only with the Joy. You'll just need regular vinyl with any other Cricut machine!
Materials:
- Cricut Joy {you can use the Maker or Air 2 as well, but your materials may vary a little from this list}
- Permanent Smart Vinyl, Black
- Permanent Smart Vinyl, Mint
- Permanent Smart Vinyl Shimmer, Gold
- Transfer Tape
- Strong Grip Transfer Tape (somewhat optional— view the video to see what I mean😜)
- Weeder Tool
- Water Bottles {I couldn't find the listing online, but we purchased these at Wal-Mart for $1 each in June 2020}
- Tape
Let us know in the comments below if you give it a try. I really love cutting Smart Vinyl without a mat— it's one of my favorite features of the Joy! Happy making, friends.

It is impossible to understand the directions without the photos shown on the screen. Why can’t they be included? I’m a beginner.
