Hello there, handsome! Simple masculine kit card tutorial
This weekend is all about dad which means it’s time to craft masculine!
I don’t know about you , but crafting ‘masculine’ does not come very easy. I asked our followers if anyone else has this problem and I was glad to hear… I am not alone.
Want to make crafting for a boy/man a breeze? No problem, I’ve got just what you need. It’s called the Mustache Man Kit! Truly, I am in love with this kit! It makes crafting for boys so EASY!
This kit is ONLY available at Craft-e-Corner, and there are very limited quantities left! Once they are gone, they are GONE!
Start out with a solid charcoal gray (not in kit) A2 size card base (5.5″x4.25″) . Take the My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline Wood Grain sheet and cut a square slightly smaller than the card base. Adhere it to the card using adhesive of choice.
Cut a strip of charcoal gray paper (not in kit), and emboss it using the Cuttlebug Machine and a Wood Grain Embossing Folder.
(Embossing machine and choice of folder can vary to your personal preference.)
Next I adhered a large rectangle using the Dilly Dally Hello Flannel Sheet from the kit.
Next, take your embossed strip and adhere it to your card, only adhering the bottom and two sides. Do not adhere the top of the strip. This will create a pocket on the front of the card for your “Hello there, handsome” tag. (tag included in kit)
TIP: You can ink the edges of your tag for a more defined look. I edges of my tag using a black 1:00am Ink Edgerz.
Next I adheres a strip of the Tim Holtz Measurement Tape Ribbon (included in kit) across the length of the charcoal strip using my American Crafts this to that adhesive runner. This runner is SUPER sticky and a wonderful adhesive for adhering ribbons and hard-to-adhere embellishments.
Next I added four small Bo Bunny brads (included in kit) to the corners of my plaid paper.
To add more visual appeal to the top of the card, I stamped the top of the card using a Hero Arts Star Stamp and my black Ink Edgerz.
Here is the card without the tag insert.
Here is the card with the tag inserted.
Rather than add a sentiment to the card itself, I wanted to hand write a message on the back of the tag. The back of the tag had a bar code and some writing on it so I covered it with some simple white cardstock. I stamped one side with the same star stamp and left the other side blank for writing.
Everything coordinated perfectly together. Most of the items I used are included in the Man Kit, plus a TON more.
Here is the completed card!
My favorite part of this card is the Tim Holtz Measurement Tape Ribbon. I love the detail and stitching on the ribbon. It has a masculine feel, but would be a great addition to a school themed project as well!
I hope you liked the card!
What is your favorite masculine color combination?
