Family Fingerprint Project

Family Fingerprint Project

Head on over to Craft-e-Corner Cricut Community Facebook Group for more inspiration and education!

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I just love the holidays. When I think of this time of year I think of spending time with family, holiday crafting and great food!

What do you think about finger painting?  Sometimes the first thing that comes to my mind is a big mess.  Well, our project is not going to create a big mess, but hopefully provide you a simple way to create a seasonal project and give thanks for those little hands.

Here is an adorable project idea for you.  I made this little “bird” print with my two little nuggets. I love doing projects that incorporate my kids.  They love to create.

Make this fun by asking your kids to describe these little birds as illustration of your family members.  Does Grandma have grey hair and wear glasses?  Maybe one of your little birds does too!  I have a cousin that always referred to my brother  as “Long-Haired Scotty”.  One of your birds should probably represent him!

This is a finger-painting project that doesn’t require a whole lot of paint or other supplies.   The birds bodies were made with the kids fingerprints and then I hand painted on the other features.

The little pink bird that is not on the line is my favorite, and it just happens that this was a spur of the moment ‘mistake’ by a very eager 2 year old who decided to go ahead and start painting himself. I ran with the ‘mistake’ blob and this little bird took flight!

This is a perfect way to create beautiful art with meaning and spend quality time crafting with your kids and families!

Hope you loved the project!

Looking for good paint?  For kids crafting, I recommend an acrylic paint that is washable. my personal favorite brand is Folk Art Paint.

What is your favorite craft project to do with your kids or families? We’d love to hear your ideas!
